A little about Mrs. Amy Eiffert.....
As I begin my sixteenth year of teaching Physical Education, I am excited to be part of a great team of educators at Pomolita Middle School .
I grew up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in a small town 90 miles northwest of Lake Tahoe. I spent most of my youth in the outdoors, hiking, backpacking, and playing sports. I continued my education at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California (a.k.a. Cal Poly!) where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Kinesiology and Minor in Psychology. I stayed at Cal Poly to earn a Teaching Credential in Physical Education and complete my student teaching in the local schools. After completing my teaching credential I moved to Ukiah where I taught Physical Education, Introduction to Psychology, and Strategies for Academic Success at Ukiah High School for 10 years. I then spent two years as the Elementary Physical Education Coordinator for Ukiah Unified School District before transferring to Pomolita Middle School. After moving to Ukiah, I met and married my husband of twelve years, Matt Eiffert, who teaches at Oak Manor Elementary School. We have a son who is ten years old, a BIG dog, two cats, and two aquariums. We enjoy camping, backpacking, hiking, riding bikes, and many other outdoor activities. I hope to share and communicate my knowledge and love of movement and lifelong activities to my students at Pomolita. I look forward to a great year!
